Stay Local with Your Ladies
Lynchburg-Area Bachelorette Party Ideas
It’s the party before the party—a chance for you and your besties to focus on friendship before romance takes center stage. But a “party” means different things to different people. And sometimes budgets don’t allow for a cross country trek to Vegas. Below, we’ve rounded up a few local options for your bachelorette fête—there’s a little something for everyone!
Grab a Drink
There are several new places to have a toast in the city limits.
A Lynchburg location of Starr Hill Brewery will open on Main Street the spring of 2020—it’s the second oldest brewery in the state.
Three Roads Brewing Company (formerly Third Street Brewing in Farmville) will also open a Lynchburg location in 2020. Wine lovers can enjoy tastings at Everyday Sommelier on Fifth Street, which opened in 2019, or at Reserve by Vino on Jefferson Street, which is also brand new to the scene.
Head out to Bedford County for beer tastings at Apocalypse Ale Forest in Forest before taking a short drive to Beale’s in Bedford. Then, choose a winery or two on the Bedford Wine Trail to finish out your day. Or, you can easily plan an excursion on the Nelson 151 Corridor, also known as the Brew Ridge Trail. With three breweries, two cideries and six wineries in a 15-mile stretch, your options are wide open!
Hands On
If you’re looking for a non-traditional party idea, consider an escape room at One Way Out. Each experience lasts an hour. During that time, your team works together to solve puzzles, find clues and beat the clock!
Or, book a workshop at Board and Brush in Forest for a crafty bachelorette experience. Complimentary beer and wine are provided (yay!) so you can sip while everyone creates their own DIY wood sign.
Get Adventurous
Have you ever taken on Sharp Top and Flat Top at the Peaks of Otter in Bedford County? See if your closest friends will conquer the challenge with you—once you get to the top, take an incredible selfie together that you’ll treasure forever.
During the warmer months, book a trip down the James by kayak or canoe through James River Adventures, located across from Downtown Lynchburg. You can enjoy other water excursions at Smith Mountain Lake, just a 45-minute drive from Lynchburg.
Weekend house rentals are very affordable for larger groups.
Pamper Yourself
You won’t have to twist anyone’s arm to enjoy a spa day—and Lynchburg offers plenty of downtown options that are within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The Parlor Spa, Telitha, and Anthony and Company Salon and Spa offer a range of luxurious services to pamper your friends.
Another option is Acorn Hill Lodge on Old Forest Road, a bed and breakfast with an attached full-service spa. London’s Salt Spa in Bedford County offers a more unique experience with its Pink Himalayan Salt cave and accompanying massages.
